Belarus keen to implement joint educational project with Russia

MINSK, 30 June (BelTA) - Belarus offers Russia to implement a joint educational project of the future aimed at training personnel to meet the demands of a rapidly changing world, Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin said during a meeting with Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov in Minsk on 30 June, BelTA has learned.

“The topic of today’s meeting is the role of education in a rapidly changing world and how we should work together to keep pace with this world and economy. We have our own vision of how to act,” Aleksandr Turchin emphasized.

According to him, it is important for both parties to define the direction of further cooperation, whether it will follow the path of traditional universities or new-type institutions. The issue of digitalization is becoming especially relevant.

The prime minister placed a special emphasis on training top-level personnel and educating “architects of complex systems”. Such specialists are rare. “First, how do we find them? Second, how do we provide the appropriate education?” he noted. “Digitalization, digital platforms, complex systems: that’s the future. There is no way around it. We need to keep pace with the times, perhaps even stay a step ahead. I would also like to hear your thoughts on this during today’s discussion.”

Aleksandr Turchin highlighted Belarus’ existing developments in this area and proposed that the Russian side consider participating in a joint educational project of the future.
