Belarus, Israel negotiating exchange of visits of parliament speakers

MINSK, 19 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Israel are discussing the exchange of parliamentary visits. Belarus has already sent an invitation to the speaker of the Israeli parliament Yuli-Yoel Edelstein, BelTA learned from Chairman of the Regional Policy and Local Self-Government Commission of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Alexander Popkov. The Belarusian MP met with the Israeli MP Yoel Razvozov on 19 October.

Alexander Popkov noted that they have a sufficient number of issues, which the mutual visits of the speakers can help resolve. “It is necessary to arrange the exchange of the visits in order to meet up and discuss political, economic issues, and many other ones,” he said. The MP underlined that there are no contradictions between the two countries. The joint work on the matters of mutual interest will contribute to stronger cooperation in the future, Alexander Popkov is convinced.

Prospects of cooperation in the sphere of investment were discussed during the meeting. According to Yoel Razvozov, Israeli companies show a strong interest in the Belarusian IT industry, including from the point of view of human resources and technologies. Parliamentarians are also intent on facilitating the advancement of cooperation in tourism. The sides exchanged views on how the available potential in this field can be fully utilized.
