Belarus interested in bolstering cooperation with Kenya

MINSK, 14 December (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to Kenya President Uhuru Kenyatta as the country celebrates Independence Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Statehood gave Kenya a historical opportunity to get rid of colonial oppression, to make independent decisions regarding the country’s destiny and to create the confident future for the nation,” the message of greetings reads. “Over the years of independence your country has become an authoritative member of the international community, one of the guarantors of stability and progress in the region of East Africa.”

The Belarusian head of state emphasized the interest of Minsk in using the potential of versatile cooperation with Nairobi in full. “For this purpose we will join efforts to develop necessary fields of expertise and provide mutual support in international organizations,” the president remarked. “I also hope that we will pay special attention to projects in machine-building, agriculture and personnel training.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Uhuru Kenyatta strong health and every success on the highest political post. He also wished Kenyan people lasting peace and prosperity.
