Belarus, Indonesia want to ramp up direct business contacts

MINSK, 17 September (BelTA) – Belarus and Indonesia are interested in intensifying direct contacts between the business communities of the two countries. The matter was discussed at the meeting between Andrei Dapkiunas, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, and Adang Sudrajat, Chairman of the Indonesia-Belarus Parliamentary Friendship Group of the House of Representatives of the People's Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia. The meeting took place in Minsk on 17 September, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The parties deem it necessary to invigorate direct contacts between Belarusian and Indonesian businesses, including through chambers of commerce and industry. They also discussed the exchange of high-level visits and a possibility of opening an Indonesian Embassy in Belarus.

Andrei Dapkiunas and Adang Sudrajat emphasized that everything is in place to expand the bilateral cooperation. They voiced their interest in scaling up cooperation in politics, trade and other areas, strengthening the legal framework of the interstate relations and providing mutual support at international organizations.
