MINSK, 6 April (BelTA) - Belarus is in favor of an objective inquiry into the incident in Salisbury with the involvement of all the stakeholders, Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei told the media on 6 April, BelTA informs.
The minister stressed that Belarus is against naming and shaming before the objective assessment of the situation is given.
According to the Belarusian minister of foreign affairs, Belarus’ position on the matter was repeatedly voiced “both immediately after the incident and at yesterday’s OPCW meeting in the Netherlands, where about a dozen states supported the position.”
Belarus stands for an objective investigation of the incident with the involvement of all the stakeholders, Vladimir Makei stressed. “We resolutely oppose the use of chemical weapons in any form and any place. We stay fully committed to all the relevant international agreements. We are against any labeling before concrete and convincing evidence is provided. This is our position,” the minister said.
