Belarus, Hungary agree to bolster ties

MINSK, 3 February (BelTA) – Belarus and Hungary have agreed to bolster ties. The agreement was reached during the meeting between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Hungary Alexander Khainovsky and State Secretary for Economic Regulation of the Hungarian Ministry for National Economy Istvan Lepsenyi, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The parties discussed in detail matters of bilateral cooperation in economy and investments. Special attention was paid to such promising cooperation fields as food and agriculture, pharmaceutics, manufacturing industry, construction, tourism, and innovations.

Alexander Khainovsky and Istvan Lepsenyi also stressed the need to bolster ties between Belarus and Hungary during the preparations for the next meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation.

The Belarusian diplomat also met with Deputy State Secretary of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Zsolt Csutora responsible for the implementation of the national strategy Opening to the East and the relations with Belarus.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on matters of Belarusian-Hungarian interaction and discussed prospects of cooperation in regional organizations. The development of Belarus’ dialogue with the EU was in the focus of the meeting.

Besides, Alexander Khainovsky and Zsolt Csutora discussed the schedule of joint events for the near time and ways to intensify cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries.
