MINSK, 27 September (BelTA) – Belarus and Grenada have discussed a possibility of easing visa requirements in order to facilitate contacts in business, tourism, education, science and culture, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA following the meeting of Belarus Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei with Grenada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Peter Charles David on the fringes of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly.

The parties welcomed the high-level political dialogue that took place after a long break. The head of Grenada’s delegation voiced his country’s interest to build cooperation with Belarus. Peter Charles David, in his turn, said that Grenada is ready to facilitate contacts between Belarus and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), an organization of 15 Caribbean nations and dependencies.

Vladimir Makei also met with Ivica Dacic, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia. The parties expressed satisfaction with the level of bilateral relations. They discussed the arrangement of the forthcoming visit of Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Serbia and the economic agenda of the visit. The parties confirmed plans to hold sessions of the Belarus-Serbia commission for science and technology and the Belarus-Serbia working group for cooperation in agriculture and foodstuffs in the run-up to the visit.

Vladimir Makei held meetings with Elmar Mammadyarov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, and Peter Szijjarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, to discuss the bilateral and multilateral agenda.

On the sidelines of the General Debate Vladimir Makei had a brief conversation with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
