LONDON, 10 June (BelTA) – The government of Belarus counts on cooperation with London Stock Exchange, Belarus’ Premier Sergei Rumas said as he met with Nikhil Rathi, Chief Executive Officer at London Stock Exchange plc & Director of International Development, on 10 June, BelTA has learned.
“Thanks to impeccable reputation and commitment to the world’s highest quality standards, London Stock Exchange is certainly viewed as a promising partner for us in the field of debt and equity financing. We see tremendous progress made by London Stock Exchange in the past two years and are naturally interested in cooperation,” Sergei Rumas said.
He thanked Nikhil Rathi and the team of London Stock Exchange for arranging Belarus Capital Markets Day.
“We highly appreciate the opportunity to hold this landmark event on one of the world’s biggest stock markets. Belarusian issuers have been getting increasingly active on the international financial market in recent years; therefore we need a continuous and constructive dialogue with investors. I hope that today’s event will help Belarusian issuers forge productive contacts with London Stock Exchange.
Nikhil Rathi noted that London Stock Exchange has a long history of cooperation with emerging markets and is ready to cooperate with Belarus.
