MINSK, 5 March (BelTA) – Belarus’ first Honorary Consulate in Lithuania will open in Klaipeda on 6 March, spokesperson for the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Dmitry Mironchik told a press briefing, BelTA has learned.
The Honorary Consul is Nikolai Logvin a Lithuanian citizen of Belarusian descent. He works as an independent expert at the company Ships and People, and is actively involved in the Belarusian-Lithuanian economic cooperation, Dmitry Mironchik said.
The ceremony to open the consulate will be attended by Belarus Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Guryanov who began his visit to the Republic of Lithuania on 5 March. Alexander Guryanov will also meet with the senior executives of the Klaipeda seaport and cargo transshipment terminal. "In Vilnius Alexander Guryanov is scheduled to hold talks with Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Rolandas Krisciunas on the issues of economic cooperation," said Dmitry Mironchik
