Belarus-EU partnership priorities almost coordinated

MINSK, 11 December (BelTA) – Belarus and the European Union have reached the final stage in the coordination of the partnership priorities for 2018-2020, Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko told the media at the forum "The European Union and the Eastern Partnership: Approaches to Regional Cooperation" on 11 December, BelTA has learned.

“We are at the final stage of coordinating partnership priorities. We still have some technical moments to look at,” said Oleg Kravchenko.

In his words, the document can be signed in H1 2018. “We view it to be an important document. We will have a document that will contain the word “partnership”. The document will open access to financial instruments, which the European Union will use within the Eastern Partnership,” the diplomat noted. The deputy minister added that these issues would be discussed by the Belarus-EU coordination group which is expected to meet in Brussels in December 2017. The diplomats will discuss a wide range of issues related to bilateral cooperation. “The coordination group is an important part of the infrastructure of the relations between Belarus and the EU. The group talks over all the issues, including transport, environment, customs cooperation and human rights,” he explained.
