MINSK, 28 September (BelTA) – The state and prospects of the Belarusian-EU relations were discussed at the meeting between Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei and Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, in New York on 27 September, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Vladimir Makei is taking part in the 2015 UN Sustainable Development Summit as part of the Belarusian delegation led by President Alexander Lukashenko.
“On the sidelines of the summit the Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs held meetings with Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Italy, Latvia, Salvador, Slovakia, Sweden to discuss the state and prospects of developing cooperation between Belarus and these countries in various areas,” said the press service of the ministry.
At the meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Salvador Hugo Martinez the parties signed an agreement on visa-free trips for holders of diplomatic and service passports.
Vladimir Makei also took part in a traditional informal meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the CSTO member states during the UN General Assembly session in New York on 26 September.
