MINSK, 16 January (BelTA) – Belarus and Egypt plan to implement joint cultural projects, BelTA learned from Viktoria Ratobylskaya, the head of the international cooperation office at the Belarusian Culture Ministry.

She noted that the memorandum of understanding between the Ministries of Culture of Belarus and Egypt signed during the visit of the Belarusian head of state to Egypt will lay the foundation for strengthening the bilateral cooperation in culture.

The memorandum provides for stepping up the collaboration both at the level of government agencies, including the Culture Ministries, and individual establishments of Belarus and Egypt.

For instance, the memorandum envisages exchange of experience, organization of workshops, and establishment of direct contacts among the cultural education institutions. The national libraries and archives of the two countries will be involved in the effort to bolster the bilateral cooperation. Plans have been made to develop common measures to fight movie piracy and consider conducting joint cinema projects.
