Belarus discusses joint projects with Kazakhstan

MINSK, 1 June (BelTA) – The working visit of the Belarusian delegation led by First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin to Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan took place on 1 June, BelTA learned from the Council of Ministers of Belarus.

The visit was organized to pave the way for an official visit of Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Kazakhstan scheduled for H2 2019 and discuss important issues of bilateral cooperation.

The Belarusian delegation comprised representatives of the Industry Ministry, Belneftekhim Concern and heads of the leading Belarusian mechanical engineering companies.

Aleksandr Turchin met with Kazakhstan Prime Minister Askar Mamin, First Deputy Prime Minister, Finance Minister Alikhan Smailov, Deputy Prime Minister Zhenis Kassymbek, and also other members of the government of Kazakhstan and businessmen of the country.

The parties discussed the prospects of the Belarus-Kazakhstan relations and the preparations for the forthcoming events on the bilateral agenda.

The focus was made on the need to continue the current cooperation projects and search for new ones. The parties emphasized the importance of completing the preparations to sign bilateral documents, including the intergovernmental agreement on trade and economic cooperation in the supplies of oil and oil products to Belarus and also important commercial contracts between economic entities.
