MINSK, 8 February (BelTA) – Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Evgeny Shestakov will travel to Colombia and Ecuador on a working visit to participate in the consultations on political affairs on 12-16 February, Dmitry Mironchik, head of the information and digital diplomacy office, spokesman for the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told the media, BelTA has learned.
During the visit, the Belarusian delegation is set to meet and hold negotiations with government officials and representatives of the business community to discuss wide range of areas of cooperation.
Colombia and Ecuador are promising trading and economic partners of Belarus in the Latin American region. Belarus seeks to increase the supplies and broaden the range of exports to these markets. Belarus’ major exports to Colombia and Ecuador include fertilizers, steel and petroleum products.
Belarus and Ecuador have canceled visa requirements for trips of their citizens. The relevant agreement was signed in 2014. Evgeny Shestakov is expected to discuss the mutual abolition of visas for all categories of passports with Colombian partners.
