Belarus, Czechia to bolster industrial, scientific contacts

MINSK, 18 April (BelTA) – Belarus and Czechia have agreed to bolster industrial and scientific contacts, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

The relevant matters were discussed during the 11th session of the Belarus-Czechia commission on economic, industrial, scientific, and technical cooperation in Prague on 18 April. Negotiations of Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Evgeny Shestakov and Czech Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Eduard Muricky took place. Evgeny Shestakov and Eduard Muricky are co-chairmen of the commission. The sides evaluated the state of the bilateral relations, discussed prospects of cooperation and problems. A plenary session of the commission took place to discuss cooperation in the area of power engineering, mechanical engineering, agriculture, science and technology, innovations, finance, cooperation between the chambers of commerce and industry, and the development of the legal base.

The Belarusian delegation included Director General of the national fuel and gas company Beltopgaz, head of the Belarusian part of the working group on cooperation in energy industry Leonid Rudinsky, Head of the Central Office for Foreign Economic Activities of the Industry Ministry, chairman of the Belarusian part of the working group on cooperation in mechanical engineering Leonid Ryzhkovsky, Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) Sergei Nabeshko, Director General of Eximgarant of Belarus Gennady Mitskevich, Head of the Belarus National Information Point for European Union Research and Innovation Programs Olga Meyerovskaya, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone, and heads of energy and manufacturing sector enterprises of Belarus.

A protocol was signed as a result of the session. It will become the roadmap to guide work for the next year.
