MINSK, 13 March (BelTA) - On 12 March Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Cuba Vitaly Barchuk held a meeting with Carlos Luis Jorge Méndez, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of the Republic of Cuba, Co-Chair of the Belarusian-Cuban Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties discussed the current state and future prospects of Belarusian-Cuban trade and economic cooperation. The parties reaffirmed their commitment to broadening the mechanisms of interaction and creating new ones and reviewed the progress in implementing the current agreements between Belarus and Cuba in industry, agriculture, and food supplies.

The parties also exchanged views on possible dates for the next meeting of the Belarusian-Cuban Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
Following the meeting, key areas of joint work for the near future were identified.
