MINSK, 28 April (BelTA) – Belarus and the Council of Europe have discussed possible areas of cooperation, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Head of the European Cooperation Department at the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andrei Bushilo was on a visit to Strasburg, France on 26-28 April. “He attended the meeting of the national coordinators of the joint project of the European Union and the Council of Europe Programmatic Cooperation Framework. The meeting took stock of the results of the project and outlined plans for cooperation of the Eastern Partnership member states, including Belarus, with the Council of Europe for 2017-2018,” the press service said.
The representative of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also held meetings with Verena Taylor, Director Office of the Directorate General of Programmes of the Council of Europe, Director of the Political Affairs Directorate Alexander Gessel, representatives of the secretariats of the Parliamentary Assembly and the Congress of the Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe. The parties discussed the state and possible areas of cooperation between Belarus and the Council of Europe.
