Belarus, China sign plan for cooperation in social, labor affairs

MINSK, 7 April (BelTA) —Belarus' Labor and Social Protection Ministry and China's Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security have signed an action plan to implement memorandum of understanding on cooperation for 2017-2018, BelTA has learned.

A Chinese delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Security of the People’s Republic China Qiu Xiaoping met with Belarus’ Labor and Social Protection Minister Irina Kostevich on 7 April. The event was also attended by Ambassador of China to Belarus Cui Qiming. The participants exchanged information on the structure and lines of activity, main tasks and functions of the relevant government agencies, shared experience orelating to state labor inspection activity and discussed the existing mechanisms used to resolve labor disputes in Belarus and China. Special emphasis was placed on the problematics of population employment as well as legislation reformation in order to improve business conditions.

The sides reaffirmed mutual interest in enhancing business contacts and developing interagency cooperation. According to the action plan, the relevant ministries are going to facilitate the organization of visits in order to share experience relating to labor legislation and labor relations matters, promotion of employment, training, retraining and advanced training of unemployed population and labor inspection and social security matters. In addition information, materials and publications will be exchanged.

While in Belarus the Chinese Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security delegation is expected to visit the National Vocational Education Institute and the Interdisctrict Employment Department "Leninsky, Partizansky" in Minsk.

Belarus' Labor and Social Protection Ministry and China's Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security signed the memorandum of understanding on cooperation in Beijing on 29 September 2016.
