Belarus, Chechnya to develop mechanisms of cooperation

MINSK, 7 July (BelTA) - Belarus and Chechnya will set up working groups to develop the mechanisms of interaction, Chechen Deputy Prime Minister Khassan Khakimov said as he met with Belarus Vice Prime Minister Mikhail Rusy, BelTA has learned.

"Both sides will create working groups which will develop the mechanisms for interaction and explore the possibilities of cooperation in certain areas," said Khassan Khakimov.

The official delegation of the Republic of Chechnya of the Russian Federation headed by Deputy Prime Minister Khassan Khakimov is in Belarus on a visit. The delegation includes representatives of several ministries, including the ministries of economy, territorial development and trade, industry and energy, agriculture. The guests have already had meetings in the Security Council, the Industry Ministry and the Belneftekhim concern. Meetings are planned in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus. "During the talks we have set a number of goals," Khassan Khakimov noted. He drew attention to the fact that Chechnya prioritizes the development of agriculture, industry, petrochemistry therefore the parties "have something to talk about."

Hassan Khakimov expressed the hope that the current visit will lead to new meetings and invited officials and representatives of the business circles of Belarus to visit the Chechen Republic.
