MINSK, 7 May (BelTA) - The Republic of Belarus is deeply concerned with the escalation of relations between India and Pakistan, the states that are friendly to Belarus. The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs made the corresponding statement, BelTA has learned.

“Belarus consistently advocates for sustainable peace in South Asia and the settlement of disputes between states through consultations, negotiations and other peaceful means. Belarus calls on the parties to a ceasefire as soon as possible and is convinced that there is no alternative to a peaceful resolution to the conflict,” the ministry said.

The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the steps taken by all parties that contribute to the early de-escalation of the conflict situation and its political settlement, as well as to the search for ways of constructive cooperation in combating terrorism and extremism, which contribute to strengthening security in South Asia.
