Belarus, Brazil sign contracts worth over $40m

Photo by Government MINSK, 1 December (BelTA) - Commercial contracts worth over $40 million were concluded during a visit of a Belarusian delegation to Brazil, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian government.

The Belarusian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Kalinin went to Brazil on a working visit on 27-30 November.

“Several documents were signed during the visit. They include the final protocol of the first session of the Belarusian-Brazilian joint commission on economic cooperation, a memorandum of intent between the Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark), the Belarusian Industry Ministry and the Secretariat on Economic Development of the State of Goias to set up an assembly facility for Belarusian tractors in the State of Goias, a memorandum of cooperation between the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Belarus-Brazil. In addition, the parties inked a number of commercial contracts worth over $40 million,” the press service informed.

The documents signed during the visit to Brazil included a contract to supply textile products between Baranovichi Cotton Production Amalgamation and Viner Brasil Tecnologia Ltda, a contract to supply linen products between Orsha Linen Mill and Viner Brasil Tecnologia Ltda, a contract to deliver a pilot batch of products between Mogilevkhimvolokno and Viner Brasil Tecnologia Ltda, a memorandum of understanding between Mogilevkhimvolokno and Viner Brasil Tecnologia Ltda. An agreement on technical cooperation was signed between Belorusneft and Viner Brasil Tecnologia Ltda and a contract to deliver potash fertilizers was concluded between BCC and Camporico Company. A trilateral memorandum of understanding between MTZ, Bobruiskagromash and Geoterra suggests providing access for Belarusian tractor, attachable and towing equipment to the market of Brazil.

The deputy prime minister also took part in the Brazil-Belarus business forum. The forum featured presentations of the economic potential of Belarus and Belarusian companies, talks with businessmen of the state of Sao Paulo and other states. The forum included a business matchmaking session.
