Belarus, Azerbaijan welcome close interparliamentary ties

MINSK, 18 June (BelTA) – Belarus and Azerbaijan have welcomed intensive interparliamentary contacts at the meeting between First Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Alexander Mikhnevich and members of the Azerbaijani parliament, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.

Alexander Mikhnevich held talks with the working group for Belarus-Azerbaijan interparliamentary ties, chairman of the standing committee on economic policy academician Ziyad Samadzade, chairman of the standing committee on social policy Hadi Rajabli and chairman of the standing committee on law policy and state building Ali Huseynli. “The parties emphasized that the intensity of interparliamentary contacts between the two countries, including contacts on the level of Belarus-Azerbaijan cooperation groups, is a good example of efficient international cooperation,” the press service of the Foreign Ministry said.

The parties noted that the parliaments of Belarus and Azerbaijan support the political dialogue and contribute to closer bilateral cooperation in trade, economy, culture, science, education and other fields.

Alexander Mikhnevich met with Director of Ganja Automobile Plant, MP Khanlar Fatiyev. They discussed production of Belarus tractors and MAZ vehicles in Ganja, their sales, post-sale service and maintenance and a possibility to increase the output.
