MINSK, 24 November (BelTA) – Representatives of Belarus’ Healthcare Ministry are taking part in the 9th Global Conference on Health Promotion in Shanghai, China, Belarus’ Healthcare Ministry said on its website.

Attending the event are about 1,000 representatives of the governments and ministries of the WHO member states, international organizations. The welcoming speeches were made by China’s Prime Minister and Minister of Health, the WHO Director General and the Vice Mayor of Shanghai.

The forum focuses on the ways of strengthening good governance for health, including through action across sectors and social mobilization, improving the health literacy, promoting the policy coherence between economic policy and public health policy.

Participants attend facilities of healthy school, healthy enterprise and healthy local community in Shanghai and get familiar with the local practices of health promotion and sustainable development.

The conference has been organized by the WHO and the National Commission on Health and Family Planning in China.
