MINSK, 2 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian government approved the national plan of action to fulfill recommendations and proposals presented by the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Integrated Nuclear Infrastructure Review (INIR 3) mission, the press service of the Belarusian Energy Ministry told BelTA.

“The plan takes into account the IAEA recommendations and proposals from Belarusian organizations involved in the implementation of the nuclear energy program,” the press service noted.

Belarus hosted the IAEA Integrated Nuclear Infrastructure Review mission from 24 February to 4 March 2020. Following the mission, the IAEA experts published a report that contained recommendations and proposals for further development of the national nuclear energy infrastructure. They are aimed at improving the legislation on nuclear energy, developing the integrated management system of the operating organization and the national nuclear regulator, and drawing up the concept for technical support of the Belarusian nuclear power plant.

“We had started working on the IAEA recommendations even before we received the mission’s official report. Some of them have already been fulfilled,” the press service noted.
