MINSK, 24 September (BelTA) – Austria has plans to open an embassy in Belarus, spokesperson for the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Mironchik told journalists on 24 September, BelTA has learned.

A delegation of the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs of Austria headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Michael Zimmermann will pay a visit to Belarus on 29-30 September to work through organizational and other matters. Michael Zimmermann is expected to meet with Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alena Kupchyna.

The decision to open an embassy in Belarus was made after the visit of Austrian Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs Sebastian Kurz to Belarus in May 2015.
