Ambassador: Belarus, Zimbabwe advance key projects in agriculture, education

MINSK, 27 July (BelTA) - Belarus and Zimbabwe are implemented key projects in agricultural mechanization and education, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Zimbabwe Yuri Nikolaichik told the media ahead of a seminar for heads of Belarusian diplomatic missions and consular posts, BelTA has learned.

“Belarus and Zimbabwe have relations of strategic partnership. Our countries have no disagreements on key issues of the multilateral agenda. Trade and economic cooperation is gaining momentum. Key projects are being implemented in the areas of agricultural mechanization and education. We are training personnel for the Zimbabwean economy in various specializations, in technical and medical fields,” Ambassador Yuri Nikolaichik said.

In addition, Belarus is working with Zimbabwe in pharmaceuticals and the supply of high-quality food products. For example, recently the first pilot batch of baby food from Bellakt has hit the shelves of Zimbabwean stores.

Speaking about the seminar for Belarusian diplomats in Minsk, the ambassador noted that this is a very important support tool that allows for the effective organization of work on the ground. It provides an opportunity, firstly, to feel the pulse of the country, and secondly, to become familiar with what has changed since the time of their departure for the host country. Accordingly, the knowledge gained at the seminar helps to optimize work, primarily on the foreign economic track.
