Presidential election in Belarus was held in January 2025. According to the Constitution, the head of state is elected for five years, and the election must take place on a Sunday no later than two months before the expiration of the term of office of the incumbent President, whose term of office is counted from the moment of inauguration.

The presidential election was scheduled for 26 January 2025. MPs approved this date at the meeting of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus on 23 October 2024.
Early voting for the presidential election 2025 will be running from 21 to 25 January.
CEC Chairman Igor Karpenko noted that 26 January 2025 was the most optimal time for the election campaign and gave several arguments.

A total of 153 territorial commissions and more than 5,000 precinct commissions were set up for the 2025 presidential election. Belarusian legislation does not provide for the establishment of polling stations abroad.

A person, who is a natural-born citizen of the Republic of Belarus, who is 40 years old, who is eligible to vote, and who has resided in Belarus for at least 20 years prior to the election, and who has not previously held a foreign citizenship or residence permit or other document of a foreign state entitling him to privileges and other advantages can run for presidency.

After the end of the main election day the Central Election Commission of Belarus announced the preliminary results of the president election on 27 January 2025. Following the ballot count, the incumbent President Aleksandr Lukashenko won the election with 86.82% of the votes.
