Zaoralek: Czechia believes in positive long-term cooperation with Belarus

MINSK, 30 June (BelTA) – The Czech Republic believes in a positive long-term cooperation with Belarus, Czech Minister of Foreign Affairs Lubomir Zaoralek said after a meeting with Belarusian counterpart Vladimir Makei in Minsk on 30 June, BelTA has learned.

“Our meeting shows that we are starting a new chapter in the relations between Belarus and the Czech Republic. This opportunity to open the new chapter in our relations is due to the fact that the relations between Belarus and the European Union have been improving. We are doing the first steps on the way towards establishing mutual trust. I believe that this is the beginning of a positive and lasting cooperation,” Lubomir Zaoralek noted.

According to him, the two countries can cooperate in the fields of culture, education, industry, and also in the international arena.

The Minister also noted Belarus’ big contribution to the efforts to resolve the crisis in Ukraine and the country's active participation in the EU's initiative Eastern Partnership.
