Working groups on Ukraine willing to meet in Minsk frequently

MINSK, 6 May (BelTA) – Working groups are willing to meet in Minsk nearly every week, BelTA learned from Ukraine’s ex-president Leonid Kuchma on 6 May.

“You know everyone likes Belarus so much that the working groups are willing to meet in Minsk nearly every week,” said Leonid Kuchma.

He went on saying: “I cannot but say thank you to Belarus and Alexander Lukashenko because in order to get things organized this way, one needs desire first of all. And the Belarusian side has this desire.”

Besides, Leonid Kuchma explained that every working group had a lot of items of varying gravity on the agenda.

Kuchma: Most important thing is ceasefire and withdrawal of heavy weapons

MINSK, 6 May (BelTA) - The most important thing for us is the ceasefire and the withdrawal of heavy weapons, former Ukraine President Leonid Kuchma told reporters after the meeting of the contact group in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

The former President of Ukraine stressed that the main thing in the current situation is the ceasefire, the withdrawal of heavy weapons and verification by the OSCE. "The relevant documents have been prepared. It is turn for the groups and the military experts to work," he said.
