Supreme State Council meeting to focus on agrarian issues, industrial policy

SAINT PETERSBURG, 4 April (BelTA) – The solutions on agrarian issues and the industrial policy will be made at the session of the Supreme State Council, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said after the meeting with Russia President Vladimir Putin, BelTA has learned.

“We have truly solved the oil and gas issues. We have been discussing the agrarian problem a lot and agreed that it will be included in the agenda of the Supreme State Council meeting. The industrial policy matters will be also discussed. In the near future we will harmonize the terms and make a decision on these and other issues at the session of the Supreme State Council,” the Belarusian head of state said.

Vladimir Putin also remarked that the sides have paid much attention to the discussion of cooperation in the agricultural industry. “I have instructed the government of the Russian Federation to send our specialists to Belarus this week. There they will work with their colleagues at corresponding enterprises in respect to which they had concerns about the compliance with the phytosanitary norms,” the President of Russia said.

“I think that the issues which are solved during the practical joint work in the spirit which has existed between our countries for many years after the signing of the Union State Treaty,” the Russian leader added.
