Sudan president lauds friendly relations with Belarus

MINSK, 10 December (BelTA) - Sudanese President Omar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir highlighted the friendly nature of relations with Belarus durign the talks with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Minsk on 10 December, BelTA has learned.

“I am happy to be in Belarus, which is a friendly country for us. I want to reaffirm that our relations are growing stronger, especially after your visit to Sudan last year. We have a lot of mutual interests in our relations: political, economic and even military-technical cooperation,” the Sudanese president said.

He noted that one of the results of the visit of the Belarusian leader to Sudan was the decision by Sudan to open an embassy in Belarus. Omar Hassan Ahmed Al-Bashir thanked Belarus for its support and assistance in this matter.

“We can do a lot together with Belarus. We support each other in international organizations in matters concerning peaceful initiatives,” the Sudanese leader added.
