MINSK, 28 August (BelTA) - Belarus is ready to develop industrial cooperation with Vietnam, Chairman of the House of Representatives of Belarus’ National Assembly Vladimir Andreichenko said as he met with Vietnamese Ambassador to Belarus Le Anh, BelTA has learned.

“We seek to strengthen industrial cooperation. A number of projects are being implemented. For example, this year saw the launch of the project to assemble MAZ trucks, passenger buses. In the food industry we are implementing a project to establish a joint venture to process powdered milk and dry whey,” Vladimir Andreichenko said. He added that the company will come on stream by the end of the year.

According to the speaker, Belarus and Vietnam plan to reach $500 million in bilateral trade by the end of 2019. A lot of work is still ahead to reach the target, the lawmaker noted.

Belarusian industrial manufacturers such as MTZ, MAZ, BelAZ, and Kommunarka confectionery are expected to take part in the international exhibition due in Ho Chi Minh City in December.

For his part, Vietnamese Ambassador Le Anh took note of the special brotherly relations between the two countries and expressed hope that the Belarusian-Vietnamese trade will continue to grow.
