Snopkov: It is an honor for Belarus to be Guest of Honor at China-Eurasia Expo

MINSK, 20 September (BelTA) – For Belarus it is a great honor to take part in the China-Eurasia Expo as a Guest of Honor, Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Nikolai Snopkov said at the official opening ceremony of the fifth China-Eurasia Expo in Urumqi, the capital city of China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, on 20 September, BelTA has learned.

“Today is a special day. It is not just the opening of the expo; it is, first of all, the day that unites nations, cultures, customs and economy. This is a period of a lifetime with the history being made beneath our eyes, with the most important business contacts being established and developed, with state cooperation being strengthened and cultural ties being expanded,” Nikolai Snopkov said.

On behalf of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko, Nikolai Snopkov expressed sincere gratitude to China for a great opportunity to display the Belarusian national exposition at the expo. “Our exposition will showcase a number of companies that have gained recognition in Europe, Middle East and the United States. Thanks to the China-Eurasia Expo, Chinese partners will have a chance to familiarize the Asian region with the sci-tech achievements and industrial potential, learn about investment advantages and reaffirm the importance of developing relations with China for Belarus,” Nikolai Snopkov said.

In his words, the motto of the Belarusian exposition is China and Belarus – Strategic Partnership and Trust. The Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration believes that “these are the words that can describe the friendly relations between the two countries, nations and mutually beneficial cooperation between businessmen.”

Nikolai Snopkov is confident that the Belarusian exposition would give an additional impetus to a more keen interest in Belarus.

The Belarusian national pavilion has displayed the State Science and Technology Committee, the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone, Belneftekhim Concern, Belarusian Potash Company, BelAZ, Gomselmash, Dzerzhinsky agricultural company, and also Kommunarka, Spartak, Slodych and other big companies.

The Belarusian delegation to the forum is led by Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Nikolai Snopkov. The delegation has also included Belarusian Economy Minister Vladimir Zinovsky, Information Minister Lilia Ananich, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China Kirill Rudy, and representatives of the Belarusian Industry Ministry, the Sports and Tourism Ministry, the State Science and Technology Committee, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the oblast executive committees, Minsk City Hall, the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park Development Company, and others.
