Snopkov: Belarus-China relations are at an all-time high

MINSK, 16 September (BelTA) – Belarus-China relations are at an all-time high right now, Deputy Head of the Belarus President’s Administration Nikolai Snopkov said at the event to mark 67th anniversary of the foundation of the People’s Republic of China on 16 September, BelTA has learned.

Nikolai Snopkov took note of a powerful growth of China’s authority in the international arena. The organization of the G20 summit in China and the inclusion of the Chinese yuan in the basket of currencies which make up the IMF’s Special Drawing Right testify to the fact. The Chinese President’s initiative to create the Silk Road Economic Belt will change the economic geography in the world.

He stressed that China and Belarus are close not geographically, but in friendship and trust. “We have reached an unprecedentedly high level of cooperation. We exchange visits at the supreme and high levels. Today China is more than a strategic partner for Belarus,” said the Deputy Head of the President’s Administration. In his opinion, the leaders of the two states give a powerful impetus to even more closer cooperation between Belarus and China.

The China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone, an important element of the future Silk Belt Economic Zone, has been gradually expanding with new infrastructure and projects.

Nikolai Snopkov also stressed that 25 years are an important milestone for the Belarusian-Chinese diplomatic relations.
