Saxony interested in economic cooperation with Belarus

MINSK, 28 June (BelTA) - Enterprises of the Federal Land of Saxony are interested in economic cooperation with Belarus, President of the Landtag of the Federal Land of Saxony Matthias Roessler said after a meeting with Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly Mikhail Myasnikovich, BelTA has learned.

“I must say that Saxony has a lot of small and medium-sized enterprises working in the industrial sector, which could implement interesting projects in Belarus. We are waiting for initiatives of the Belarusian partners,” Matthias Roessler said.

The politician stressed that by joint efforts Belarus and Germany should create favorable economic conditions for investors. This includes the legal certainty, said Matthias Roessler. “We are interested in developing cooperation with Belarus, both economically and scientifically. As far as I know, Belarus joined the European space of higher education and joined the so-called Bologna process,” he said.

The President of the Landtag said that the delegation has already visited some Belarusian enterprises, including Minsk Tractor Works, met with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus. “What we saw was very interesting for us. On the whole, we found Belarus and Minsk attractive,” Matthias Roessler noted.
