Russian ambassador pledges support for Belarus-Russia cooperation

Russian ambassador pledges support for Belarus-Russia cooperation

MINSK, 25 September (BelTA) – I am ready to do everything to make the relations between the two countries truly fraternal, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus Mikhail Babich told the media before a ceremony to present the credentials to Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on 25 September, BelTA has learned.

“I am determined to do everything possible to make our relations truly fraternal, to strengthen them, to promote full economic integration and to further our political union to the extent possible,” Ambassador Mikhail Babich said.

He stressed that the cooperation in the Belarus-Russia Union State should be filled with real content to ensure that the union is not some virtual project but beneficial to the citizens of the two countries.

The ambassador drew attention to the fact that no new stage opens in the relations between Belarus and Russia with the start of his diplomatic mission. This is a continuation of the collaboration that has lasted for many years. “Now the world, the economies of our countries are facing new challenges and therefore we aim for new goals. Therefore, we have had a scheduled rotation. We appreciate the work done before. But, of course, we need innovations and dynamics, taking into account the decisions taken in Sochi,” he said.
