Regional ties hailed as integral part of Belarus-Russia cooperation

MINSK, 8 June (BelTA) – Regional cooperation is an integral part of the cooperation between Belarus and Russia, Russian President Vladimir Putin said when speaking at a plenary session of the 3rd Forum of Regions of Russia and Belarus, BelTA has learned.

“Together with friends we have built a good infrastructure of bilateral cooperation. Its integral part is certainly close interaction between regions of Russia and Belarus. 80 constituent entities of the Russian Federation maintain direct links with their counterparts in regions of Belarus,” Vladimir Putin said.

He welcomed the project to hold the Days of Moscow in Minsk. The Russian President instructed to implement a similar project in the Russian capital.

“The legal framework of regional cooperation features about 300 agreements. 20 new documents and some 150 commercial contracts totaling $230 million are expected to be signed during the forum,” Vladimir Putin informed.
