MINSK, 17 May (BelTA) - Minsk has never sought the role of mediator in resolving the Ukraine conflict but is ready to facilitate the process, Press Secretary of the Belarusian president Natalya Eismont told TASS, BelTA has learned.

"Regarding the possible organization of future rounds of negotiations, I emphasize the main point: Belarus has never sought the role of mediator, neither in the past nor now. This is our principle. However, if it is necessary for peace among our neighbors, in our brotherly Ukraine, and all parties agree, we will organize the process in a way that no other country can." Natalya Eismont stated

According to her, this is directly linked to Belarus' future.

MINSK, 17 May (BelTA) - The results of the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul represent a tactical but significant success for the Russian leadership, Press Secretary of the Belarusian president Natalya Eismont told TASS, BelTA has learned.

"First, we did not expect any other results. The first round of negotiations fortunately took place and yielded at least some results.
