MINSK, 16 December (BelTA) – The National Olympic Committee played host to the 10th ceremony of awarding certificates to the President’s Sports Club scholarship holders. A total of 176 young athletes, Paralympic sportsmen and 28 coaches were named as scholarship holders for 2016, BelTA informs.

According to Chairman of the Central Council of the President’s Sports Club Dmitry Lukashenko, the foundation for future success is laid in a young age. “Climbing up to the upper floor of the National Olympic Committee, to the Hall of Olympic Glory we found ourselves around the champions who once graced the podiums of the biggest competitions and achieved their dreams. Now it is your turn. Almost 80% of the current scholarship holders are medalists of the world and European championships. Over a third of you are not new to this ceremony,” said Dmitry Lukashenko.
