PM: Belarus ready for wider cooperation with Austrian business

MINSK, 29 March (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to expand cooperation with Austrian business, Belarusian Prime Minister Sergei Rumas said as he met with Austrian Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz on 29 March, BelTA has learned.

The meeting was attended by a big delegation of businessmen from Austria. Among them were those who had already implemented projects in Belarus. These are the telecom operator velcom, Priorbank, Kronospan, Bertsch, and Kapsch. Sergei Rumas invited the Austrian delegation to discuss plans for mutually beneficial cooperation.

“Belarus views Austria as an important and promising partner for cooperation in different areas. We are grateful to Austria for the support of Belarus' efforts to normalize the relations with the European Union,” Sergei Rumas said. Belarus is also grateful to Austria for many-year assistance in dealing with the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster.

Sebastian Kurz noted that during his visit to Belarus he had a number of very good meetings. Austrian companies have been successfully working on the Belarusian market, and this cooperation is worth to be continued, he said.
