Pakistan invited to set up enterprises in Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park

ISLAMABAD, 29 May (BelTA) – President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko invites Pakistan to set up production facilities in the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park. He made the statement at the meeting with Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, BelTA has learned.

On 29 May Islamabad hosted official talks of the Belarusian President with the Prime Minister of Pakistan in the narrow format and with the participation of the delegation members.

Pakistan invited to set up enterprises in Chinese-Belarusian Industrial ParkSumming up the results of the talks, Alexander Lukashenko said that the sides have signed 20 documents during the visit of the Belarusian head of state to Pakistan. “Belarus views Pakistan as one of the leaders in the Islamic world. It is not good that this country is not represented in the center of Europe,” the President stressed. In this respect the sides agreed to build the Pakistani Embassy in Minsk.

Agreements on the establishment of joint ventures to produce necessary commodities in the two countries were reached during the visit of the Belarusian delegation to Pakistan.

Pakistan invited to set up enterprises in Chinese-Belarusian Industrial ParkThe Belarusian President said that as part of the recent visit of President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping to Belarus the two heads of state visited the construction site of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park near Minsk which will house production facilities of the world’s leading companies. “The project is implemented as part of the Silk Road Economic Belt project of the People’s Republic of China. We invite your companies to set up production facilities in this technology park. We will create necessary conditions for that. There are unprecedented tax preferences in the park,” the Belarusian leader said.

The Belarusian side would like Pakistan to set up modern sewing and textile facilities in Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko stressed. “You have huge experience in this field. We have a good platform. We are ready to establish modern production facilities in the center of Europe with you,” the Belarusian head of state said. “Your products made at these enterprises, our joint products will sell well. These are the goods which we do not have in the former Soviet Union space and which we import from various countries. I think that your products will be competitive on the European market,” the Belarusian President believes.
