Opinion: Hopes of the state rest with young Belarusians raised on the Constitution's principles

MINSK, 15 March (BelTA) – It is very important for Belarus to raise decent citizens of the country, who are ready to do their best for it. The statement was made by Chairman of the State Control Committee Leonid Anfimov as he presented passports to talented young Belarusians in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

The official said: “14 years is an important milestone on the way to adulthood, the time when you are given the right and the obligation to get passports of citizens of the Republic of Belarus. It is symbolic that the festive affair takes place on the day we celebrate Constitution Day, moreover, on the 25th anniversary since the Constitution was adopted. The document stipulates the main regulations, rights, and obligations of citizens of the country and guarantees of their fulfillment.” The official stressed that the Constitution should be virtually the desk companion of every citizen in order for the citizens to be able to consult the book more often.

“The Constitution places special emphasis on youth policy. Your state-guaranteed rights are stipulated. First of all, the right to harmonious spiritual, physical, and moral development. And the state enables the necessary conditions for you to take part in this development,” Leonid Anfimov told those present. “I believe that this approach originates from the notion of continuity of generations. We cannot but think about who will take over reins of control over the country, branches of the economy, enterprises, and organizations,” the official explained.

Leonid Anfimov underlined the role of education in the harmonious development of people. “You can become a decent person, a specialist, an executive only after your memory has been enriched with the knowledge of all the riches mankind has accumulated. Learning is a kind of work, a large and responsible kind,”  Leonid Anfimov said.
