During the session the sides signed an action plan on pursuing a coordinated industrial policy within the framework of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.

Andrei Kobyakov explained that a similar document on pursuing a joint industrial policy had been developed within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union but it is more general. Since the union of Belarus and Russia is the engine of integration, cooperation avenues in the production sector are more tangible in the Union State of Belarus and Russia.

The Prime Minister of Belarus said: “There are no contradictions here. For other countries we are open and our three partners inside the Eurasian Economic Union can join the Belarusian-Russian industrial policy.”

Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev added that as far as the production sector is concerned, the Belarusian and Russian economies have been more tightly intertwined over the course of history. This is why later on many advances secured by Belarus and Russia as part of the coordinated industrial policy can be utilized by the Eurasian Economic Union.
