Metropolitan Pavel calls for grateful prayer, benevolence as Christmas approaches

MINSK, 4 January (BelTA) – The Orthodox Church calls for a prayer of joy and gratitude, benevolence and universal love during the holy days of Christmas, reads the Christmas message of Metropolitan Pavel of Minsk and Zaslavl, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, BelTA has learned.

“Among the people around us, there is always someone who feels bad, lonely, and despaired, who is old and feeble. We should realize that without love, mutual care and support, and a willingness to give our lives to those whom we love, there is no happiness, joy, or abundant living. Our Lord and Savior is waiting for good fruits, the fruits of love and benevolence to our fellow creatures, from the faithful sons and daughters of the Church,” the message reads.

Metropolitan Pavel noted that the year 2015 brought many spiritual joys and accomplishments for the Church.
