Makei hopes for expanding relations with Luxemburg

MINSK, 14 September (BelTA) – I hope the relations with Luxemburg will be expanded and strengthened, Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said at he met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxemburg Jean Asselborn on 14 September, BelTA has learned.

Vladimir Makei noted that this is the first visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the European state to Belarus following the elections to the House of Representatives. “We hope that your visit will promote strengthening of our relations in various areas,” the minister said.

Vladimir Makei suggested discussing the development of bilateral cooperation, relations between Belarus and the EU and the situation in the region.

In turn, Jean Asselborn noted that Belarus and the EU were moving in the right direction, although the situation is still far from being ideal.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxemburg invited Vladimir Makei to visit his country any time convenient for the Belarusian minister.
