Makei hails momentum in Belarus-Pakistan relations

ISLAMABAD, 6 October (BelTA) – The relations of Belarus and Pakistan have demonstrated positive dynamics over the course of less than two years, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei told reporters on 6 October, BelTA has learned.

“The decision to open the Embassy of Belarus in Pakistan which was made by the head of state some time ago proved effective. Over the course of less than two years our relations with Pakistan have demonstrated huge positive dynamics,” Vladimir Makei said.

The minister noted that in 2015 the countries signed 58 various documents to promote cooperation. During the visit of the Belarusian President to Pakistan the sides signed about 15 memoranda and agreements. They create a solid legal framework for the enhancement of cooperation between the two countries in absolutely all avenues. “The results of the visit testify to the fact that our cooperation has been advanced to brand-new level. Some time ago we were talking about the deliveries of products only, this time the President of Belarus and the Prime Minister of Pakistan discussed the need to deepen cooperation,” the Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed. “We are interested in the manufacturing sector, agriculture, science, technology, and education. We have signed contracts and agreements in all the fields during the visit.”
