Lukashenko: Sooner or later young Belarusians will thank those who saved the country

MINSK, 29 December (BelTA) – Sooner or later young Belarusians will hear the voice of reason instead of calls of foreign Telegram channels and will thank those, who have preserved the country. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement as he addressed participants of a New Year ball for young Belarusians in the Palace of Independence on 29 December, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “My faith in you is absolute. Yes, we are going through difficult times. Yes, young and hot heads, your heads are sometimes in the vanguard of events. It has always been like that. Both in my time and later on. But I am convinced that sooner or later all our children will hear the voice of reason instead of calls of foreign Telegram channels. And they will thank the people, who are now on the frontline fighting for the future. Meanwhile, we will harness our willpower and will continue serving our country in order to preserve it for you. It is the historic mission of the generation of creators of independent Belarus. And we will accomplish the mission properly. I promise you that.”

“All of you have studied history and should remember that our land was under the boot of foreigners for centuries. All of it happened and must not happen again if we truly want to be independent,” Aleksandr Lukashenko added.
