Lukashenko praises Trump’s recent actions

MINSK, 12 December (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed approval of the actions by U.S. President Donald Trump as he met with U.S. Special Envoy for Belarus John Coale in Minsk on 12 December, BelTA has learned.

“They say Trump likes flattery. But that is not my intention. I must say, I have been very impressed with his recent actions,” the president said.

As BelTA previously reported, on 9 December, at a meeting of the Security Council of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko noted the role of U.S. President Donald Trump in advancing a peaceful agenda regarding the conflict in Ukraine: “No matter how hard some try to downplay Trump’s role, he is doing a great job in this regard. His statements will not go unnoticed by the people. He wants to stop the war, as he says, to prevent people from dying. One can make a fuss around this and say whatever they want. But what can you say against what the Americans are doing today?”
