NAYPYIDAW, 28 November (BelTA) – A great future awaits Myanmar and its people, but it requires ensuring stability in the society, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko told journalists following the talks with Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Min Aung Hlaing in Naypyidaw on 28 November, BelTA has learned.

In this context, the head of state noted that parliamentary elections will be held in Myanmar at the end of 2025. The Belarusian president emphasized that the measures undertaken by the leadership of Myanmar ahead of this event are democratic. “Speaking as a friend, I would like to remind you that you are holding these elections for your own people, and they must, first and foremost, serve the interests of the people of Myanmar.”
