Lukashenko expresses condolences over passing of Islam Karimov

MINSK, 2 September (BelTA) - Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has expressed condolences to Chairman of the Senate of Uzbekistan Nigmatilla Yuldashev, the people of Uzbekistan, the family and friends of Uzbekistan President Islam Karimov in connection with his demise, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The message of condolences reads that it is with deep sorrow that Belarus has learned the news about the death of the Uzbekistan President.

“A great leader who selflessly served his people and country died. Compatriots and friends all over the world will remember Islam Abduganiyevich [Karimov] as an outstanding politician and public figure whose name is inseparably connected with the development of independent Uzbekistan,” Alexander Lukashenko noted.
